When will Africa mature as an attractive market for Western brands?

Africa’s global contribution to GDP is only about 3% but it is set to receive a demographic dividend as its young populace begins to work in the next decade or so. Allied with the introduction of telecommunications technology much of which is only just being introduced in the West (4G, mobile payments), that will likely prove a highly attractive market to brands – but only if the intellectual property and legal infrastructure are up to the task.

Fortunately, Afro-IP is keeping a watch on the IP offices in 54 countries, with mixed results.
